The castle Schnaitberg is an Outbound castle in the district Schnaitberg the town of Essingen in Ostalbkreis in Baden-Württemberg .

The castle was the ancestral seat of the Lords of Schnaitberg , who were related to the Lords of Roden . They were ministerials to the Counts of Dillingen . In 1473 the castle was owned by the Lords of Horkheim . In 1534 the castle, which had since been sold, was sold to the city of Aalen.
