Königsbühl Castle

The castle Königsbühl is an Outbound hillside castle in a forest 1500 meters east of the city Lauchheim in Ostalbkreis in Baden-Wuerttemberg on a projecting westward mountain tongue.

history

The castle, which was already mentioned as a ruin in the Middle Ages , served together with the neighboring Gromberg Castle to secure the ancient trade route from the Remstal into the Nördlinger Ries , today Bundesstraße 29 .

In 1394, a farmstead at Königsbühl is mentioned that belonged to the Lords of Gromberg and was sold to the Teutonic Order .

Only remains of the earthworks remain from the castle .
