The castle Zöbingen is an Outbound medieval castle in the district Zöbingen the town of Unterschneidheim in Ostalbkreis in Baden-Württemberg .
history
In the years 1239 and 1281 there was evidence of a knightly lower nobility from Zöbingen . These had a castle that was most likely built on the remains of a Roman building. The Lords of Zöbingen were ministerials to the Counts of Oettingen . From 1304 they expanded their property. In the 14th century there is a branch of the von Ellrichshausen family , which, unlike the rest of the family, had a crossbar in the coat of arms. Zöbingen probably succeeded in getting married to Elisabeth von Sechtenhausen and Walther von Ellrichshausen.
