Nordhausen Castle

The castle Nordhausen is a Outbound Turmhügelburg (Motte) in the district of Nordhausen the community Unterschneidheim in Ostalbkreis in Baden-Württemberg .

history

In 1108 a Bertholdi de Northusen was mentioned.

The lords of Nordhausen , who also called themselves von Schneidheim , had their ancestral seat at this castle. By the second half of the 14th century at the latest, the castle was no longer inhabited and was in ruins. This emerges from a sales deed dated September 7, 1384. In it, Carl von Gisslingen (Geislingen, district of Unterschneidheim) and his wife Catharina von Mannsberg sold the Burgstall in Schneidheim (Snatten) to the Dinkelsbühler citizen Friderich Houer, which they owned by Catharina der Güssen, the widow of Cunrat von Pfahlheim, and her son Rudolf von Had bought Pfahlheim.
