Natalia E. Woytasik (born March 8, 1967 in Heidelberg ) is a German photographer , painter and experimental musician in the field of new music.

Life and photography

She is the granddaughter of a Polish anarchist and the daughter of a mother (born in Moscow ) who was persecuted by the Bolsheviks and found shelter in the US military reception center near Munich in 1945 . She studied at the Free Art School Rhein-Neckar in Mannheim .

Natalia E. Woytasik has been working exclusively with the Cyclop - I night vision device since 1994. She used the fascinating possibilities of this device for photographic work in cities such as Moscow, London , and Berlin to document the street and night life there. In Moscow it was the Saira Blanche Theater, in London she was mainly with the night vision device in the museums Tate Gallery and British Museum , because there she was able to hold a large archive of sculptors and their sculptures, as well as antique objects. She portrayed the night vision device the writers and co-founder of Kommune 1 Ulrich Enzensberger , the autobiography at this time , the burning glass of Otto Rosenberg chronicled. In Berlin she portrayed the writer Harry Hass, the singer Marianne Rosenberg , the musician and radio DJ Gudrun Gut , the musician and songwriter Nikki Sudden , the steel cellist and artist Bob Rutman from New York and the artist colleague Lisa Brown from Canada.

From 1996 to 2001 she photographed the Berlin art scene. In July 2001 she presented the exhibition "Aquarium" in the Kreuzberg gallery Transition, which showed her photographs of the artists of Berlin's nightlife for 10 months.

In 1997 a series of corner paintings was created. However, she got tired of painting and decided to turn more and more to photography . Quote: "Photography is the sketch of a masterpiece ."

Experimental music

From 1993 to 1996 Natalia E. Woytasik worked with the composer Otfried Rautenbach, she received a viola from him and was invited to share her musical contribution, which led to joint appearances in Berlin and Munich. She also played with the experimental music group "Das Projekt Krematorium", which during this time only performed concerts in underpasses due to the special acoustics . B. in Heidelberg, Berlin, Bremen.

Under the title "The game of Emotionistin" she went on 15 September 1995 at the Heidelberg student detention room on, Natalia E. Woytasik also played at the invitation of the artist Bernhard Schipper with the East German music group "M" in Bautzen.

Member of the art movement NO! Art

Natalia E. Woytasik has been a member of the art movement NO! Art since 2003. This art movement was founded in New York in 1960 by the artists Boris Lurie , Sam Goodmann and Stanley Fisher. More than 50 artists have been involved in the NO! Art movement since the 1960s, including Enrico Baj and Wolf Vostell .
