Natalia Vladimirovna Malysheva

Natalja Wladimirowna Malyschewa ( Russian: Наталья Владимировна Малышева ; born December 12, 1921 in Feodosiya in the Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic of Crimea ; † February 4, 2012 in Moscow ) was a Soviet - Russian missile technician and nun .

Life

Malysheva, daughter of a Zemstvo - physician , was active in sports from childhood and graduated from nursing courses. After attending school, she began studying at the Moscow State Aviation Institute (MAI) .

At the beginning of the German-Soviet war , Malysheva immediately came to the front and worked in the divisional reconnaissance in the direction of Wolokolamsk . After a three-month reconnaissance course in June 1942, she worked in the reconnaissance of the 16th Army commanded by Konstantin Konstantinowitsch Rokossowski . At the end of the war she was a lieutenant . After the war she served in Upper Silesia and came to Potsdam in 1949 .

After being discharged from the Red Army , Malysheva returned to MAI to study. She was immediately accepted into the third year course, after which she was employed as a rocket engine designer at the NII-88 Research Institute in Podlipki . She was involved in the development of the engines for controlling and braking the first ballistic missiles and spaceships . This also included the Vostok 1 with Juri Alexejewitsch Gagarin . She was also involved in the engine development for the anti-aircraft missile complex S-75 Pyotr Dmitrievich Grushins , for which she received a medal. She was the only woman on the missile complex examination commission. She received the major rank .

After retirement, Malysheva helped set up the Moscow court of the Pühitsa Russian Orthodox Women's Convent in Kuremäe . She stayed in the Moscow court and became a simple nun Adriana. Alexander Maxowitsch Schilow painted them in 2008.
