Nathan (born March 13, 1996 in Blumenau , Santa Catarina ; actually Nathan Allan de Souza ) is a Brazilian soccer player . The attacking midfielder is under contract with Chelsea and plays on loan for Atlético Mineiro .

Career

Nathan moved up to the first team squad at Athletico Paranaense for the 2014 season . He played his first competitive game for the club on January 30, 2014 when he lost 2-1 to Sporting Cristal in the Copa Libertadores . On May 22, 2014 Nathan made his debut in the Série A in a 1-1 draw against Corinthians São Paulo .

For the 2015/16 season Nathan moved to the Premier League for Chelsea and was loaned out directly to Vitesse Arnheim for two years . In the 2016/17 season he won the Dutch Cup with Vitesse . After the loan ended, Nathan was loaned to SC Amiens by Chelsea until the end of the year. From January to June 2018 he played on loan for Belenenses Lisbon . Chelsea then loaned him to Atlético Mineiro .

National team

Nathan took part in the U17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates with the Brazilian U17 national team in autumn 2013 . He was used in all games of his team and scored five goals, placing him fourth on the top scorer list . In the quarterfinals, the team lost in the penalty shootout of the selection of Mexico . At the end of the tournament, Nathan was awarded the "Silver Ball" as the second best player.

In early 2015 , Nathan played with the U20 team at the U20 South American Championship in Uruguay . He scored one goal in eight games and finished fourth with his team in the final round.
