The National Professional Paintball League ( NPPL ) is one of several US paintball leagues and the largest seven-man team league in the world. The league is divided into four events that take place in different locations across the United States. In 2009 the US Paintball League (USPL) acquired the rights to the NPPL. The NPPL was thus included in the USPL and continues to exist alongside the regional championships (Western Conference, Eastern Conference) as a national championship with 4 events (previously 5).

participation

Every international team is allowed to register for the individual events. The exception is the “Professional Division”, which consists of 18 selected, licensed professional teams. There is also an application fee of $ 3,000 to $ 3,500 (as of 2010) for the professional department.

The participating teams are divided into divisions based on their skills. The amount of the registration fee to be paid depends on the division and the time of registration.

  1. Professional Division, 7 men, $ 3000- $ 3500
  2. Division 1, 7 men, $ 2100- $ 2450
  3. Division 2, 7 men, $ 1950- $ 2250
  4. Division 3, 7 men, $ 1700- $ 1950
  5. Division 3, 5 men, $ 1,300 - $ 1,600
  6. Division 4, 5 men, $ 1100- $ 1400
  7. Pump Division, 5 men, $ 600- $ 800

regulate

The game is played according to the basic principle of the SupAir style of play.

The field size is 180 feet (54.864 meters) in length and 100 feet (30.49 meters) in width. Two teams with 7 players each play against each other per game. On the playing field there are coverings in different shapes and sizes, which are set up symmetrically. (That is, each team sees the same cover in the same places from their side.) At the longitudinal ends of the field are the teams' bases, with the respective team flag hanging over them.

There is an announcement 10 seconds before the game starts, followed by a silent countdown. The players must touch the base of their team with their markers. After the 10 seconds, the lead referee gives an acoustic start signal. (With a start call or activation of a siren.)

The complete and up-to-date set of rules can be downloaded from the official website for each season.
