Calilegua National Park

The Calilegua National Park is a 76,300 hectare protected area in the Argentine province of Jujuy with a subtropical mountain cloud forest on the eastern slope of the Andes . Founded in 1979, the national park is located in the far northwest of the country and was established to preserve the biodiversity of the Yunga ecosystem. The park's fauna includes around 500 species of birds; that's 50 percent of all bird species in Argentina. The mammals that can be found in the national park include the jaguar , puma and ocelot .

The Libertador General San Martín and Calilegua are located near the park .
