Baritú National Park
The Baritú National Park is a nature reserve opened in 1974 in the Department of Santa Victoria in the province of Salta in Argentina . It covers an area of 724 km² and is located within the biosphere reserve of the Argentine cloud forest , also known as "Yungas". The area consists of a hilly jungle landscape in which a hot and humid subtropical to tropical climate prevails with annual rainfall of 900 to 1300 mm. The park is particularly characterized by its high biodiversity.
Access
From the north you can get to the park via Los Toldos . To the southeast is the impassable access "Segundo Angosto del Río Pescado", which can be reached from Aguas Blancas via the southern part of Ruta Provincial 19. To the south, another entrance leads over Isla de Cañas .
Infectious diseases
The tropical diseases yellow fever , dengue , leishmaniasis and malaria as well as the rodent-borne hantavirus occur in the area.
