The nature reserve grassland and forest areas near Rothenberg consists of two parts south and west of Rothenberg in the town of Leichlingen (Rhineland) in the Rheinisch-Bergisch district . To the west it borders on federal motorway 3 .
description
The northern part has diverse locations on groundwater influenced soils. This includes forests , meadows , fallow land and wooded areas with birches and alders . There are also wet meadows , Großseggenrieder and reed stands . The southern part is covered with pine - oak forest , fallow grassland and orchards .
Protective purposes
The area is protected in order to preserve a rich wetland complex with wet and wet meadows and pastures, rush and sedge stands as well as forest stands of broken forests (birch-red alder forest ) as well as species and structure-rich mixed deciduous forests on low-nutrient sandy soils.
Prohibitions
To achieve the protective purposes, it is also prohibited
- change the groundwater level or implement irrigation, drainage or other measures that change the water balance,
- to remove the naturally occurring, lying or standing dead wood in the stocks of the alder and alluvial forests near the groundwater,
- driving in the waterlogged areas with forest machines,
- Carry out soil protection liming.
