The nature reserve Roderbachtal with side depths extends east from Roderhof south to Balkenberg in the city of Leichlingen (Rhineland) in the Rheinisch-Bergisch district .
description
It is a steep notch valley along the Roderbach . This includes several laterally incised sieves with source streams and pronounced source hollows. The slopes are covered with beech forest , which is partly made of old wood. In some places spruce afforestation extends from the upper slopes down to the valley floor. There are riparian forest areas and unused ponds .
Protective purposes
The nature reserve is protected to preserve, secure and restore a Siefen complex with near-natural source areas, accompanying forest and a typical landscape structure.
