description
These are meadows and pastures with different moisture levels. The grassland areas are criss-crossed by wet ditches, which are bordered by tall herbaceous vegetation or sedge. In between there are structurally rich trees, such as field trees, hedges, rows of trees and individual trees that shape the landscape. In the southern area there are older stands of a riparian forest .
Protective purposes
The area is protected to maintain, develop and secure the Riedbach and its woody floodplain areas, wet and wet meadows, sedge stands and reeds. The woody stands that characterize the landscape serve as a habitat and retreat for numerous animal and plant species, some of which are threatened, and their communities, especially birds, amphibians and invertebrates . The protection serves the following purposes in particular:
- Preservation and securing of the protected biotopes : sedges and wet meadows rich in rushes , swamps , reed beds and inland waters .
- Securing the function as a biotope composite area .
- Preservation and development of the landscape in its individuality and beauty.
- Protection, maintenance and development of on damp and wet meadows and sedge stocks bound and reedbeds communities.
