description

The upper Bachtalbereich is of tapering source streams with grasslands , woodlands and wetlands wasteland dominated. In the further course of the valley area, the naturally meandering brook is accompanied by spring and tall herbaceous corridors , meadows and by lighter poplars and spruce trees . In the valley floor there are extensive reforestation areas with red alder and ash trees.

Protective purposes

Nature conservation was carried out to maintain and develop a contiguous, relatively undisturbed brook valley with tapering side depths , spring areas, alluvial forests , wet and humid grassland as well as structurally rich forest edges.

In detail, the following protective purposes were set:

  • Preservation and development of the extensive, scenically particularly beautiful and diverse stream valley system with particular suitability for recreation in nature,
  • Preservation and securing of protected biotopes , such as rivers, alluvial forests, spring areas and wet and humid grassland,
  • Securing the function as a biotope network area of particular, sometimes outstanding importance,
  • Preservation and development of the extensive, mostly continuous stream valley and its side valleys and Siefen as a particularly valuable flowing water ecosystem .
