The Lombachtal nature reserve extends between Hammermühle and Siefen in the town of Overath in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis .
description
The nature reserve is accompanied by the Lombach with its spring depths and with its floodplain. In the upper reaches, the alluvial forest is mostly occupied by alders , hornbeams and oaks , in places with the addition of spruce . In the lower reaches of the river you come across damp grassland that borders the alder-lined stream. An old dump below the Breidenassel quarry and a short ravine in the adjacent rock with a small waterfall just before the Agger valley represent scenic and ecological special locations.
Protective purposes

- Preservation and securing of running waters as well as wet and humid grassland, which belong to the protected biotopes ,
- Securing the function as a biotope network area of particular importance,
- Preservation and development of a predominantly near-natural stream with floodplain grassland and small alluvial forests,
- Preservation of the block dump and the gorge with a small waterfall as valuable and rare scenic and ecological special locations,
- Preservation and development of partly moist meadow grassland.
