Hengstberg natural forest reserve

The nature reserve Naturwaldreservat Hengstberg lies in the area of the city Selb in the administrative district Wunsiedel in the Fichtelgebirge in Upper Franconia .
The 39.62 ha area with the number NSG-00198.01, which was placed under nature protection in 1984 , extends east of Silberbach , a district of Selb, around the 651 meter high Großer Hengstberg , a granite peak in the Fichtel Mountains . West St runs 2178 and 263.45 extends ha large protected area Egertal at Neuhaus . The state border with the Czech Republic runs about 200 meters from the southeastern edge of the nature reserve.
It is a semi-natural mixed deciduous forest that is very rare for the natural area .
