The nature reserve Egertal near Neuhaus is located in the area of ​​the town of Hohenberg an der Eger in the district of Wunsiedel in the Fichtelgebirge in Upper Franconia .

The 263.45 hectare area with the number NSG-00346.01, which was placed under nature conservation in 1941 , extends north and northwest of Neuhaus an der Eger , a district of Hohenberg an der Eger, along the Eger . The St 2178 runs not far to the south-east and the A 93 to the north-west . The state border with the Czech Republic runs 1.3 km from the eastern edge of the area.

The nature reserve is a unique section of valley in Upper Franconia and is of outstanding natural beauty.
