The Navisence (also Navizence ) is a river in the canton of Valais in the district of Sierre . The river rises above Ayer on the Weisshorn . After about 15 kilometers, the river Gougra , which comes from the Lac de Moiry reservoir , flows into the river. The Navisence then flows through the area of the former municipalities of Saint-Jean , Vissoie and Chandolin (today Anniviers ), touches the political municipality of Chalais VS , until after about 28 kilometers it flows into the Rhone at Chippis . The Navisence drains an area of 255.54 km² and drains the Val d'Anniviers .
The water of the Navisence is the hydroelectric plant in Chippis Navizence the company Alpiq used.
The lower part of the Navisence is crossed by the 190 m high Niouc Bridge .
