Nazacara de Pacajes is a town in the La Paz department in the highlands of the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

Nazacara de Pacajes is the central place of the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Nazacara de Pacajes in the province of Pacajes . Nazacara de Pacajes is located at an altitude of 3833  m on the right bank of the Río Desaguadero , 65 kilometers downstream from Lake Titicaca . On the opposite western bank of the river is Nazacara , central place of the canton Nazacara in the province of Ingavi , the centers of the two places are less than a kilometer apart.

Nazacara de Pacajes lies between the mountain ranges of the Cordillera Oriental and the Cordillera Central in the Andean dry climate of the Altiplano with an average annual rainfall of around 500 mm (see Nazacara climate diagram). The region has a distinct daytime climate, with mean temperatures fluctuating more during the day than during the year.
