history

As part of the settlement of colonists in the region, which was desired from 1782, the village of Neu-Byhleguhre was founded on the initiative of Gottlob Carl Wilibald von Houwald by the end of the 18th century. The Lower Sorbian name Běła Górka (White Hill) can be seen as a small form of Bĕła Góra (White Mountain) of the neighboring Byhleguhre. In 1815 Lower Lusatia passed into Prussian ownership. In the time of National Socialism , Neu-Byhleguhre was called "Neu-Geroburg" because Byhleguhre was associated with the Margrave Gero . The renaming took place with the incorporation on October 1, 1938. Since the end of the Second World War, the place has borne its old name again.

On July 25, 1952, Byhleguhre and its districts were assigned to the Lübben district in the Cottbus district . After the fall of the Wall in the GDR , Neu-Byhleguhre was initially in the Lübben district in Brandenburg . On October 1, 1992, the municipality of Byhleguhre joined the newly formed Oberspreewald office . After the Brandenburg district reform of December 6, 1993, Neu-Byhleguhre was assigned to the Dahme-Spreewald district . On October 26, 2003, the communities Byhleguhre and Byhlen were merged to Byhleguhre-Byhlen and Neu-Byhleguhre lost its status as a district. At the same time, the Oberspreewald office merged with the neighboring Lieberose office to form the Lieberose / Oberspreewald office .
