A year has passed since the Börner family moved to the Grünfeld housing estate. All four have now settled in, benefit from the advantages of settlement life and come to terms with the sometimes rather bizarre neighbors. But Jan and Anne Börner are still not green fields through and through. And they are careful not to be stuffy. Private and professional life is particularly turbulent for the graphic artist Jan. When his ex-girlfriend Maren also shows up and wants to make his comic about the settlement big as a publisher's editor, the successful divorce lawyer Anne suspects nothing good. And even a bomb alarm in the new housing estate does not calm down all heated emotions.

After the success of the comedy A Row House is rarely alone with 5.1 million viewers, the ZDF had a follow-up film made. The social comedy was produced by U5 Filmproduktion and producer Katrin Haase . The ZDF editorial team was Caroline von Senden and Martin R. Neumann. The shooting ended on November 19, 2015. As in the first part, Frankfurt-Riedberg was selected for the location and the illustrations and comics used in the film are again by Daniel Stieglitz .

TV fiction film judges that Titus Selge is again making fun of all sorts of alleged suburban quirks with relish. It was "applied so thickly and sometimes even so clunky that it really doesn't hurt anyone". While the satire is "still lacking the bite, the sharpness", it is still "enjoyable", "not least thanks to the humorous main actors".
