Reviews

The lexicon of international films judged: “The focus is neither on the great Indian nor on a conclusive analysis of the religious and political background to his murder, but on the life story of the young murderer, freely formulated according to the American recipe for success. Little more than a colorful adventure cinema with little psychological depth. "

Variety praised the fact that Horst Buchholz gave the assassin depth and motivation.

Awards

In 1964 Arthur Ibbetson was nominated for the BAFTA Award in the Best Cinematography category. The film award was presented for the first time in this category.
