The Town of New Glarus is located in southern Wisconsin, around 35 north of the Illinois border . The intersection of the three states of Wisconsin, Iowa and Illinois is located on the Mississippi and lies around 110 km west-southwest.

The Wisconsin State Highways 39 and 69 passing through the Town of New Glarus. In addition, the County Highways D, H and N run through the town. All other roads are subordinate country roads and some unpaved roads.
Through the east of the Town of a former railway line with the runs on the route Sugar River State Trail , a rail trail for hikers and cyclists. In winter, the hiking trail can also be used with snowmobiles.
The nearest airport is Dane County Regional Airport in Wisconsin's capital Madison (around 55 km northeast).
