Kjell Lars Nicklas Lööf Danielsson (born December 7, 1984 in Uppsala ) is a Swedish ice hockey player who has been under contract with Brynäs IF in the Svenska Hockeyligan since 2018 . At the 2013 World Cup , he won the world title with the Swedish national team.

Career

Danielsson started his career as an ice hockey player in the youth team of Almtuna IS before moving to Västerås IK Ungdom . For the club, which had to compete in the Swedish third division after bankruptcy in 2000, he made his Division 2 debut at the age of 16 and scored eight points in 13 appearances as the youngest player on his team. He then moved to Brynäs IF in the J20 SuperElit and made his debut in the Elitserien , the top Swedish division , in the 2003/03 season .

In the 2003 NHL Entry Draft , Danielsson was selected in the fifth round in a total of 160th position by the Vancouver Canucks . He stayed in Sweden, however, and made the permanent jump into the squad of Brynäs the following season , where he scored six goals over the course of the season. After he could not improve his points yield in the 2004/05 season and only gave one assist in 30 missions, Danielsson was transferred to his youth club Almtuna IS in the Allsvenskan , where he was the team's second best scorer behind Marcus Ragnarsson in the following season . For the 2006/07 season he then took Djurgårdens IF under contract, where Danielsson could earn a place in the Elitserien squad. In 2010 he moved with his team into the final series for the Swedish championship .

After four years in Djurgården, Nicklas Danielsson then moved to league competitor MODO Hockey , where he was his team's top scorer in the 2011/12 season with a personal best of 52 points. He also had the best plus / minus balance in the league and was ranked third overall in the scorer ranking. For the following season he signed a contract with SC Bern , but after the commitment of John Tavares for the duration of the lockout in the National Hockey League 2013, he was no longer used for the club. In December 2013, he therefore dissolved his contract and moved to HC Lev Prague in the Continental Hockey League . There he got 14 scorer points in the remaining 16 games of the season.

After the start of the 2013/14 season his contract in Prague was triggered and the striker joined the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers of the National League A in. After the Lakers' relegation in spring 2015, Danielsson left the club and moved to Lausanne HC , where he was under contract until 2018. He then returned to Brynäs IF.

International

Danielsson has represented Sweden in international matches since 2001. He played his first international tournament at the U20 World Junior Championship in 2004 , where he finished seventh with the team. At the 2013 World Cup he won the gold medal with the Swedish men's team.
