Niclas Thomas Heimann (born March 12, 1991 in Engelskirchen , Germany ) is a German football player in the position of goalkeeper .
Career
In the club
Niclas Heimann played in the Bayer 04 Leverkusen youth team until he moved to England for Chelsea in 2007 . There he played mainly in the club's U-18 team and occasionally accompanied the reserve team to games as a substitute goalkeeper. For the 2010/11 season he moved to Austria to FC Red Bull Salzburg , where he took the place of third goalkeeper and was supposed to collect match practice with the Red Bull Juniors Salzburg , the second team. In 2012 he moved to the Netherlands for VVV-Venlo and made his debut for the club on matchday five against NEC Nijmegen in the Eredivisie . This was his only competitive game for the Dutch in the relegation season .
For the 2013/14 season he was signed by FC Energie Cottbus , to whose professional squad he belonged, but as the third goalkeeper did not play there. He gained match practice in the second team of energy, for which he made eleven games in the Oberliga Nordost . After the relegation of the professional team from the 2nd Bundesliga , Heimann moved to the Regionalliga West at Rot-Weiss Essen in summer 2014 . With Essen, he won the Niederrhein Cup in 2015 and 2016 . In 2017 he moved to SV Rödinghausen in the league . For the 2020/21 season, he switched to SSV Ulm 1846 in the Regionalliga Südwest at his own request .
National team
Internationally, he ran five times for various DFB youth national teams . On March 24, 2009 he was in the game against France (final score 3: 4) for the first time for the German U-18 selection between the posts. Four more games for the U-20 team followed .
