Nicolás Baisi (born July 15, 1964 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Puerto Iguazú .

Life

After attending the Colegio Don Jaime in Bella Vista , Nicolás Baisi studied engineering for two years at the Universidad de Buenos Aires . He then entered the seminary in San Miguel and studied Catholic theology at the Universidad del Salvador . Baisi received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of San Miguel on November 21, 1993 .

Nicolás Baisi then worked as parish vicar in the parish Inmaculado Corazón de María in Los Polverines before he was sent to Rome for further studies , where he obtained a degree in Catholic theology at the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas in 2001 . After returning to his homeland, Baisi worked as vice director of the diocesan charity and pastor of the parish of Nuestra Señora del Rosario in Grand Bourg . He was also responsible for catechesis and a member of the Priestly Council of the Diocese of San Miguel. In 2007 Nicolás Baisi Regens became a member of the San Miguel Seminary.

On April 8, 2010, Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . the titular bishop of Tepelta and ordered him to auxiliary bishop in La Plata . The Archbishop of La Plata, Héctor Rubén Aguer , gave him episcopal ordination on June 19 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the auxiliary bishop in La Plata, Antonio Marino , and the bishop of San Miguel, Sergio Alfredo Fenoy .

On May 8, 2020, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Puerto Iguazú. The inauguration took place on July 5 of the same year.
