Nicola Hüsing

Nicola Hüsing (* 1969 in Rheda-Wiedenbrück ) is a German chemist and materials scientist .

Live and act

Nicola Hüsing studied chemistry from 1988 to 1993 at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg and graduated with a diploma . She then worked at the Vienna University of Technology and with a DAAD scholarship with Jeffrey I. Zink at the University of California, Los Angeles . In 1997 she was at the University of Würzburg with Ulrich Schubert Dr. rer. nat. PhD . From 1997 to 1998 she worked on an Erwin Schrödinger grant from the Fund for the Advancement of Scientific Research as a postdoctoral fellow with Charles Jeffrey Brinker at Sandia National Laboratories and at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque , New Mexico. From 1998 she worked again at the Technical University of Vienna. In 2003 she obtained the Venia Legendi , completed her habilitation with a thesis on mesoscopically structured porous layers and became an assistant professor .

From 2004 to 2010 she was full professor for inorganic chemistry at Ulm University . Since 2010 she has been a full professor of materials chemistry at the Paris-Lodron University in Salzburg . Since 2012 she has also been a research group leader at the Helmholtz Institute Ulm . In 2019 she was elected Vice Rector for Research and Sustainability by the University Council.
