location

The parish village of Niedermotzing is located on the Danube about two kilometers southeast of Aholfing. From the somewhat more northerly Obermotzing it is by the Old Laber separately.

history

The early Motzing mentions from the 9th to the 12th century probably already refer to Niedermotzing. Due to a settlement in 1503 between the Regensburg Bishop Ruprecht and the Bavarian Duke Albrecht IV , the Regensburg bishopric had the only high court enclave in the Straubing district court over the episcopal rule of Wörth in Niedermotzing . Administratively it was part of the chairmanship chairman Dürnhart .

This regulation existed until the general reorganization at the beginning of the 19th century. In 1808 Niedermotzing came to the Aholfing tax district . According to the cadastre for that year, it had thirty properties. As "Untermotzing", the former high judicial enclave was placed under the Straubing Regional Court in 1811. In the course of the formation of the community, Niedermotzing came to the Aholfing community in 1821. At that time there was also a school in Niedermotzing.

In 1831 the Niedermotzing district became an independent municipality. In 1946, the wasteland of Landstorf moved from the Atting community to the Niedermotzing community. In 1975 the community of Niedermotzing was incorporated into Aholfing as part of the regional reform in Bavaria . In 1987 Niedermotzing had 233 inhabitants.
