Location of Nieps in Saxony-Anhalt

Nieps is a district of the Rohrberg municipality in the Altmarkkreis Salzwedel in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

The Altmark village of Nieps is four kilometers southwest of Rohrberg and 21 kilometers southwest of the district town of Salzwedel an der Hartau, a tributary of the Jeetze .

history

Gut Ahlum / district of Nieps

Today's village Nieps emerged from Gut Ahlum, which was probably renamed Nieps in the 1950s .

The predecessor of the Ahlum manor was the manor Ahlum, which was fit for the state parliament and initially lay in the village of Ahlum. In 1824 the buildings were demolished as part of the land consolidation and rebuilt two kilometers west of the village. Presumably, the estate was also assigned to the Stöckheim community as a district in the mid-1950s.

Forsthaus Nieps

The former forester's house Nieps, also called Försterei Nieps, is now a residential area called Forst am Forstweg in Lüdelsen.

The forester's house Nieps was built on the desert field marrow of an earlier village when the area was not yet forested.

In 1335 two mills and a farm in villa et in Campis Nipitze were mentioned, those from Knesebeck they had lent to Boning and Greaves. In 1420 a subject of the Diesdorf monastery in Nyptz was kidnapped and robbed by the Magdeburgers. Further mentions are 1491 in the dorppe to Yptze , 1693 Niepze and 1745 Nieptze .

Johann Christoph Bekmann reported in 1753: a piece of wood called Nips, where previously there was a village of the same name.

In 1804 it is called Vorwerk and Forsthaus Nieps in the so-called Holze Nieps .

Incorporation / reclassification

On 17 October 1928, the agricultural part of the Gutsbezirks Ahlum, the estate Ahlum, with the rural community Ahlum combined. The forestry part, the forest Nieps (with the former Forsthaus Nieps), was merged with the rural community Lüdelsen .

In 1957 Nieps was listed as a district of Stöckheim in the official directory. A comparison of the coordinates of the district with the table sheet from 1902 shows that the former Gut Ahlum corresponds to the district of Nieps. On April 1, 1974, the community of Stöckheim from the district of Klötze was incorporated into the community of Ahlum.

When Ahlum merged with other communities on January 1, 2009, to form the new Rohrberg community, Nieps came to Rohrberg as a district of Ahlum .
