Niko Mindegía Elizaga (born July 19, 1988 in Santesteban , Navarra ) is a Spanish handball player who is mostly used on the back center .

The 1.84 m tall and 87 kg heavy right-handed player began his professional career in 2005 at Portland San Antonio in the Spanish ASOBAL league . Internationally, he reached the 2005/06 final , the 2006/07 semifinals and the 2007/08 and 2008/09 main rounds in the EHF Champions League with the team from Pamplona . In the European Cup Winners' Cup , he was in the semi-finals in 2009/10 and 2010/11 . After the financial collapse of San Antonio, he moved to Naturhouse La Rioja , with whom he reached the group stage in the 2012/13 EHF European Cup . From 2013 Mindegía ran for the Hungarian club Pick Szeged . With the Magyars he won the EHF European Cup in 2014 and was runner-up. In the summer of 2016 he joined the Danish first division club KIF Kolding København . From summer 2017 he ran for the French club Chambéry Savoie HB . He won the French Cup with Chambéry Savoie in 2019. In summer 2019 he moved to the Polish first division club Wisła Płock .

Niko Mindegía is part of the Spanish national team . He was in the provisional squad for the 2014 European Championship , but was not called into the final squad. Mindegia made his debut on December 28, 2010 against Portugal and so far has played 23 international matches in which he has scored 31 goals.
