Nils Goerke (born October 25, 1973 in Elmshorn ) is a former German duathlete and triathlete . He is vice-European champion in the long distance triathlon (2004).
Career
Nils Goerke came to the duathlon through cycling and in 1993 he started his first triathlon over the Olympic distance (short distance: 1.5 km swimming, 40 km cycling and 10 km running).
In 1999 he became German runner-up in the Duathlon short distance and he was able to repeat this success in 2001.
From 2002 Goerke was active as a triathlon professional and he started for the association Triabolos Hamburg .
Vice European Triathlon Champion
In 2004 he became vice European champion in the long distance triathlon (3.86 km swimming, 180 km cycling and 42.195 km running).
He was able to qualify five times for a starting place at the Ironman Hawaii (Ironman World Championship) and achieved his best placing in 2003 with the 22nd place.
Nils Goerke ended his professional career in 2012, he lives in Kiel and has been a triathlon coach in Hamburg since 2013 .
