No Consequence is an English metal band from Guildford , which mixes Technical Death Metal with elements of Progressive Metal . The band attributes itself to the Djent movement.
history
Founded in 2005, the band released their debut EP in 2007 with Pathway . In February 2009 the band announced to have signed a contract with the British record label Basick Records . Contact to the label came about through the band The Arusha Accord , with whom the band had played a concert in Bournemouth and who then told their label about the band. In mid-August 2009, In the Shadow of Gods, the band's debut album was released. Subsequently, the band struggled with some member losses. Tom Hale left the band in early November and was replaced by Tom Parkinson. In between the band played at the second and last edition of the Hellfire Festival in Birmingham , where they could be seen alongside Saxon , Anvil and Fields of the Nephilim . In December 2009 it was also announced that Phil Winterbottom had left the band for health reasons and because his visa had expired . He was replaced at short notice by Adam Winter from the band The Final Bloodlust , until a new singer was found in Chris Jones in June 2010 after a long search. In September 2010, the drummer Phil Brown left the band, whereupon he was replaced by Colin Bentham.
Singer Chris Jones left the band in 2012 because he had become a father, because of which the band decided not to look for a new second singer and in the future to continue with Kaan Tasan as the sole singer. In the summer the band played a tour through Great Britain alongside Uneven Structure , where they could also be seen at the UK Tech-Metal Fest . In October, the band made an appearance on the year in Cologne held Euro Blast Festival , where in addition to bands like After the Burial , TesseracT and Skyharbor played.
As a foretaste of the upcoming album, the band released the single Coerce: Conform in early March 2013 , which they offered as a free download from the label's own bandcamp website. This was followed by the release of their second studio album IO at the beginning of April , which the band named after Jupiter's moon Io , as the planet has a very harsh climate due to its great volcanic activity, which they associated with the unpredictable nature of the earth. In addition, the name of the album is a metaphor for the band's lyrics, which is about the seemingly stable society and its problems from the band's point of view. The album was recorded except for the drum parts in Daniel Reid's own home studio and then mixed by Fascination Street Studios . When recording the drums, Colin Bentham was supported by Mike Malyan from the band Monuments . On May 25, the band played at the third edition of the Djentival in Karlsruhe, alongside The Algorithm and Driven by Entropy, among others .

Both the songs from In the Shadow of Gods and IO were all composed using Guitar Pro software , which made it easier for the band members to exchange new ideas. The tabs were freely available on the website until the renovation.
