Nora Leticia Rocha

Nora Leticia Rocha ( Nora Leticia Rocha de la Cruz; born December 18, 1967 in Monclova ) is a former Mexican middle and long distance runner .

At the World Athletics Championships in Gothenburg in 1995 , she was eliminated over 10,000 m in the preliminary run. In 1996 she was third in the Cancun Marathon .

In 1997 she came in 43rd place at the World Cross Country Championships in Turin and was eleventh over 10,000 m at the World Championships in Athens . In the following year, she finished 14th in the long distance at the 1998 World Cross Country Championship in Marrakech. At the Ibero-American Championships she won silver in the 5000 m , in the Central American and Caribbean Games she won the 5000 m and took silver in the 1500 m , and at the World Athletics Cup in Johannesburg she was fourth in the 5000 m.

In 1999 she finished 36th at the World Cross Country Championship in Belfast on the long distance. At the Pan American Games in Winnipeg she won over 10,000 m and was fourth in the 5000 m, and at the World Championships in Seville she failed over 5000 m in the preliminary round.

At the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000, she was eliminated over 5000 m and 10,000 m in the first round.

In 2002 she won the Maratón de la Comarca Lagunera and the Ibero-American Championships over 3000 m , was eighth over 5000 m at the World Cup in Athletics in Madrid and won bronze over the same distance at the Central American and Caribbean Games. In 2003 she was third in the Monterrey Half Marathon and won silver over 5000 m at the Pan American Games in Santo Domingo .

In 2007 she won bronze over 5000 m at the Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro and was fourth over 10,000 m. At the World Championships in Osaka , she did not get beyond the preliminary round over 5000 m.

Her last international success was winning the 5000m at the Central American and Caribbean Athletics Championships in 2008.

She is married to long-distance runner David Galván .
