David Galván ( José David Galván Martínez; born April 6, 1973 in Cuatro Ciénegas ) is a retired Mexican long-distance runner .

In 1999 he won the Pan American Games in Winnipeg over 5000 m and won silver over 10,000 m . At the World Athletics Championships in Seville , he was eliminated over 5000 m in the preliminary run.

At the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000 he came 13th over 10,000 m.

At the World Half Marathon Championships he did not finish in Veracruz in 2000 and in Bristol in 2001 . At the 2001 Monterrey Half Marathon , he finished fifth.

In 2002 he won bronze at the Ibero-American Championships over 3000 m and at the Central American and Caribbean Games over 5000 m. At the Athletics World Cup in Madrid , he finished second.

The following year he won silver over 5000 m at the Pan American Games in Winnipeg in 2003 and was eleventh over 10,000 m at the World Championships in Paris / Saint-Denis .

At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens he ran over 10,000 m in 21st place.

In 2006 he came in the Cross Country World Championships in Fukuoka on the short distance and the long distance on the 41st place. At the Central America and Caribbean Games, he won over 10,000 m.

In 2007 he triumphed at the Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro over 10,000 m and was fourth over 5000 m.

At the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, he gave up over 10,000 m.

He is married to the long-distance runner Nora Leticia Rocha .
