The ship

AG EMS had the catamaran built from 1988 to 1989 at the AS Fjellstrand Aluminum Yachts shipyard in Omastrand, Norway. The keel was laid on September 8, the launch on November 28, 1988. The ship was completed in April 1989.

The ferry is powered by two 16-cylinder four-stroke diesel engines from MTU Friedrichshafen GmbH (16 V 396 TB) with an output of 2040 kW each in conjunction with a water jet drive .

The catamaran has operated daily between Borkum and Emden since it went into service. The journey time is about an hour. At night the catamaran lies in the port of Emden.

Predecessor ships
