North Norfolk is a district in the county of Norfolk in England . The administrative seat is in Cromer ; other important places are Beeston Regis , Fakenham , Happisburgh , Holt , Hoveton , Ludham , Mundesley , North Walsham , Overstrand , Scottow , Sheringham , Stalham , Trunch , Walsingham and Wells-next-the-Sea .

The district was formed on April 1, 1974 and was created from the merger of the urban districts of Cromer, North Walsham, Sheringham and Wells-next-the-Sea and the rural districts of Erpingham, Smallburgh and Walsingham.
