The bomber is manufactured by Northrop Grumman with his B-2 experience. The order volume is estimated at 80 billion US dollars (2015), a quarter of it for research and development.
Commissioning is planned for 2025, with a total of 100 bombers to be purchased (as of 2015). To test the prototypes, preparations began in spring 2018 at Edwards Air Force Base in California for setting up a test flight squadron.
