Nová Seninka , until 1948 Špiklice (German Spieglitz ) is a district of the city of Staré Město in the Czech Republic . It is located five kilometers northwest of Staré Město near the border with Poland and belongs to the Okres Šumperk .

geography

Nova Seninka extends Snieznik Mountain below the space Berger passport (Czech Kladske sedlo ; polish Przełęcz Płoszczyna ) in the valley of Zrcadlový brook, a right influx of Krupá . To the west of the village rise the Králický Sněžník ( Spieglitzer Schneeberg ; 1425 m) and the Stříbrnicka (1250 m), in the southwest the Sušina ( Dürre Koppe , 1321 m) and in the east the Kunčická hora ( Kunzenberg , 943 m). A pass road leads along the Krupá over the Platzenberger Pass to Nowa Morawa .

Neighboring towns are Nowa Morawa and Seninka in the north, Javořina in the north-east and Kamienica in the north-west, Kunčice and Květná in the south-west and Nový Rumburk and Stříbrnice in the south.

history

Spieglitz was created in the 13th century on an important trade connection between Moravia and the Glatzer Kessel over the Platzenberger Pass. The village died out during the Hussite Wars and was repopulated in 1561 by the Goldenstein rulers . During the Thirty Years' War the parish of Spieglitz went out and was re-established in 1784. In 1766 a village school was established. In 1860 700 people lived in the place.

After the abolition of patrimonial Spieglitz formed a political municipality in the Mährisch Schönberg district . In 1930, 437 people lived in Spieglitz.

As a result of the Munich Agreement , the municipality was added to the German Reich in 1938 and belonged to the Mährisch Schönberg district until 1945 . In 1939, after the Czech minority had been expelled, Spieglitz only had 363 inhabitants. After the Second World War, the German residents were expelled .

In 1948 the municipality of Špiklice was given the new name Nová Seninka . In 1961 it was incorporated into Stříbrnice and in 1976 together with it to Staré Město.
