Novembre is an Italian gothic metal band from Rome .

history

It was founded in 1990 under the name "Catacomb" by the brothers Carmelo ( vocals , guitar ) and Giuseppe Orlando ( drums ). In 1991 the demo Unreal was released , followed by the 7 '' Return of the Ark . Shortly afterwards they changed their name to Novembre.

In 1994, Novembre recorded their debut album Wish I Could Dream It Again at Dan Swano's Unisound Studios. Arte Novecento appeared two years later . The album also includes a cover version of Depeche Mode's song Stripped . In 1997 Massimiliano Paglius joined as the second guitarist. Until then, the group released their albums on the Italian independent label Polyphemus Records , but for their third album Classica , the group can negotiate a contract with Century Media . The mastering was done by Andy Laroque ( King Diamond , Evergrey ). The group then toured with Witchery , Moonspell and Kreator and performed at the Wave-Gotik-Treffen in 2000 and 2001.

In 2001 Novembrine Waltz was published . Novembre worked as a producer with Terje Refnes , who had already produced bands such as Tristania and Sins of Thy Beloved . The following Dreams d'Azur in 2002 was a new edition of the now out of print debut album. The songs were re-recorded for this purpose. This was followed by a label change to Peaceville . The first album for the new label was Materia (2006). This was followed by a tour with Katatonia . Memoria Stoica was released as a single .

The Blue was released in 2007 . Luca Giovagnoli took over the bass beforehand. The album was produced by producer Mikko Karmila ( Nightwish , Sentenced , Amorphis ). The group played at Summer Breeze and toured in support of Within Temptation .

style

While the previous project Catacomb was still classic Death Metal with a Doom touch, the music style changed to Gothic Metal with relatively clear vocals after the name change.
