Novo Miloševo ( Serbian-Cyrillic : Ново Милошево,  Hungarian : Beodra or Beodra és KarlovaGerman : Beudra or Beudra and Karlowo ) is a village in Serbia .

It is located in the municipality ( opština ; општина) Novi Bečej in the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina and belongs to the Central Banat District (Srednjobanatski okrug; Средњобанатски округ).

Surname

The village of Novo Miloševo has existed in its current form since the end of the Second World War , when the villages of Beodra and Dragutinovo were merged into the village of Novo Miloševo. The names of the village in German and Hungarian have their origin in the fact that Dragutinovo was called Karlovo until 1918 .

The village of Novo Miloševo is located in the Central Banat in Vojvodina , a good 45 kilometers from the Serbian-Romanian border crossing at Srpska Crnja / Hatzfeld . The nearest towns are Bečej and Kikinda . The river Tisza flows on the western edge of the village area .

history

The village Beodra was first mentioned in 1331, and from 1742 to 1753 it was used by Serbs from the catchment area of the river Tisza ( Potisje ) and from the catchment area of the river Mures ( Pomorišje ), which is now mostly in Hungary and Romania is, but still inhabited by large Serbian minority, populated. The village of Karlovo was founded in 1751 by former Serbian border settlers.

In 1918 the village of Karlovo was named after Dragutin Ristić , a colonel in the Serbian army in World War I , whose unit defended the village; from now on it was called Dragutinovo.

After the Second World War, the villages of Beodra and Dragutinovo were merged to form the village of Novo Miloševo. The village was named after the Dragutinovo-born partisan Miloš Popov Klima .

Demographics

The ethnic majority in Novo Miloševo are Serbs with 76.09% . Significant minorities in Novo Miloševo are the Magyars with 14.57% and the Roma with 5.33%. In addition, there are still smaller minorities of Yugoslavs , Croats , Macedonians and Montenegrins living in the village .

During the 20th century, the number of inhabitants in Novo Miloševo steadily decreased. In 1949 9,536 people lived in the village, in 2002 there were only 6,763 people.

Novo Miloševo is located on the federal road 15 , which leads from Bački Breg on the Serbian-Hungarian border via Sombor , Vrbas , Srbobran , Bečej and Kikinda to the border between Romania and Serbia near Nakovo .

In addition, the Serbian Railways operate a stop in Novo Miloševo called Banatsko Miloševo, where trains run daily from Kikinda to Zrenjanin or Subotica .
