Oberthürheim

Oberthürheim is a part of the municipality of Buttenwiesen in the Swabian district of Dillingen on the Danube . It is located two kilometers southwest of Buttenwiesen on the northern foothills of the Iller-Lech-Platte .

history

The parish village Oberthürheim as the neighboring Unterthürheim 1048 for the first time in a document handed. In it, property, church and tithe in Pfaffenhofen with the tithe in Thürheim are given to the St. Stephan monastery in Augsburg . The Kaisheim monastery in Oberthürheim repeatedly acquired property from 1242 and thus became the most important landlord . The monastery held local rule from 1590. The nurse was in Unterthürheim, where the monastery also owned considerable goods.

In the period from 1802 to 1806, parts of the town were initially transferred to Bavaria as a result of secularization and the rest of the area due to mediation . Oberthürheim was assigned to the Wertingen District Court on October 1, 1813 .

On January 1, 1976, the previously independent municipality of Oberthürheim was merged with the neighboring municipality of Unterthürheim to form the new municipality of Thürheim . This was incorporated into the municipality of Buttenwiesen on May 1, 1978.

St. Nikolaus in Oberthürheim

Oberthürheim belonged to the Pfaffenhofen parish until 1859/61 . The Church of St. Nicholas is mentioned for the first time in 1319, it had the right to baptize and burial. In 1861 the curate beneficiary was raised to a parish curate, in 1922 to a parish. The current church was built at the end of the 17th century. The so-called "Lindenkapelle", which was built in 1756, stands on the western edge of the village.
The parish of Oberthürheim has been part of the Buttenwiesen parish community since September 1, 2013; before that, it was part of the dissolved Unterthürheim parish community .
