history

The parish village of Frauenstetten was originally only called Stetten, it was laid out as an extension of Ehingen and Ortlfingen . The name "Frauenstetten" was first handed down in 1352, and the name of the church patron, Our Lady , was added to the place name. Frauenstetten belonged almost entirely to the Hohenreichen rule, which first belonged to the Lords of Reichen, around 1400 to the Lords of Rechberg and then came to the Marshals of Pappenheim zu Hohenreichen. In 1568 the Hohenreichen rule was merged with the Wertingen rule . After the family died out, the rule fell back to Bavaria as an imperial knighthood fiefdom in the canton of Danube in the Swabian knightly circle .

Religions

The parish church of St. Anna in Frauenstetten is documented for the first time in 1352, it came from the Lords of Rechberg to the St. Moritz monastery in Augsburg in 1399 . The original Marian patronage was converted into an Annapatrozinium. The parish of Frauenstetten belongs to the parish community of Buttenwiesen . Hinterried and the Untere Mühle / Kreuzmühle also belong to the parish .
