The Obruk Dam ( Turkish Obruk Barajı ) is located in Central Anatolia 50 km northwest of the provincial capital Çorum on the Kızılırmak River .

The dam, located in the Turkish province of Çorum , was built between 1996 and 2009 on behalf of the state water authority DSİ for the purpose of energy generation and irrigation . It is operated by the state energy company Elektrik Üretim A.Ş. (EÜAŞ) operated. The earth dam with a cross-sectional structure in the form of a filter and a clay core is 67 m high and has a volume of 1.283 million m³. The associated approx. 40 km long reservoir has a water surface of 50.2 km² and a storage volume of 661.11 million m³. The dam is used to irrigate an area of 5538 ha. The hydroelectric power station of the Obruk dam has 4 Francis turbines of 50.5  megawatts . The standard work capacity is 473 GWh per year (according to other information 515 GWh). The district town of Oğuzlar is 5 km west of the dam, and the district town of Dodurga is just 10 km north .

In May 2014 there was massive fish death at the reservoir. The regulator blamed rain and mud for it. The fish remained in ponds after the water level had normalized. In addition, mud clogged the animals' gills.
