Ten years after Nick Garrett ( Bryan Greenberg ) left home to travel Europe for a few weeks, Nick is returning to October Road . Here he left his girlfriend Hannah ( Laura Prepon ) and best friend Eddie ( Geoff Stults ) behind. Nick is scheduled to hold a seminar at the local college as a now famous writer. As a writer, he had his breakthrough with a book about life in his hometown, which leads to some conflict.

October Road was written semi-autobiographically by Scott Rosenberg. It tells of what happened after the release of Beautiful Girls , which is also set in Knights Ridge.
