Oelgershausen is located in the middle of Siegerland at an altitude of 330 to 350 m and has an area of 1.7 km². Mountains in the area are for example the Müdersberg with 387.1 m or the Hartelsberg with 383.9 m . The Breitenbach flows through the village .

history
The first written mention of the place as "Ulgershusen" goes back to March 8, 1319.
Until the end of 1968, the place belonged to the office of Netphen and became part of the new large community of Netphen during the municipal reorganization on January 1, 1969, and since 2000 a district.
The “Dorfgemeinschaft Oelgershausen 1982 e. V. “has been taking care of various activities and celebrations in the village since 1982.

The place is on the road between Netphen and Eckmannshausen. The next train station is in Weidenau, the bus service is taken over by VWS . Via Dreis-Tiefenbach, the federal highway 62 and the Hüttentalstrasse ( federal highway 54 ) the place is connected to the federal highway 45 .

Social and public facilities are the village community center and a barbecue hut, the Backes with lounge, a football field, a children's playground and a cemetery.
