The Oeschinenhorn is a 3486 m high mountain in the Bernese Alps in Switzerland .
East of the summit is situated with the Blüemlisalphorn, the Wyssen woman and the morning the horn Blüemlisalp , west which closes over the Oeschinenjoch (3172 m) Fründenhorn in which further to doldenhorn over passes. To the south, the Oeschinenhorn falls in a steep rock face onto the Kanderfirn . The north-west ridge leads north towards Oeschinensee . This ridge is located between the Vorderen Blüemlisalpgletscher (east) and the Oeschinengletscher (west).
Summit routes
The starting point for an ascent is the Fründenhütte (2562 m), which can be reached from Kandersteg .
The Oeschinenhorn is rarely climbed as the only tour destination.
The normal route to the summit leads over the northwest ridge. From the summit it is possible to cross over the southwest ridge to the Blüemlisalphorn ( ZS , III. Degree ).
