Okamatapati is a settlement in the Okakarara constituency in the Otjozondjupa region in northeastern Namibia . Okamatapati is about 90 kilometers northeast of the city of Okakarara . It has been connected to the B14 national road since 2018 .

Okamatapati is derived from the Otjiherero word Omutapati for Combretum hereroense .

The settlement was an important settlement of the Herero in Hereroland in the 1960s as part of the Odendaal Plan .
