The Olešnice (Czech) / Białka (Polish) (German Elsnitz , on the upper reaches founder water ) is a right tributary of the Bělá in the Czech Republic and Poland .

course

The Olešnice rises near Horní Údolí on the western slope of the Příčný vrch ( Querberg , 974 m) in the Zuckmanteler Uplands in the Czech Republic. Its source is not far from the ruins of the Chapel of St. Marta, to the southeast lies the source of the Opavice .

Its course initially heads west, but soon turns north. The villages Horní Údolí and Dolní Údolí extend in the deeply cut valley of the Olešnice. At Nový Dvůr the brook takes a north-easterly direction to flow around the Ovčácký vrch ( Polkenstein , 563 m) in a wide arc . To the northeast of the mountain, the Olešnice is bridged by the Mikulovice – Zlaté Hory railway line, which then follows the stream to Mikulovice on the left. Over a length of three and a half kilometers, the Olešnice subsequently forms the border with Poland, where it is called Białka . The villages of Gęstwina, Ondřejovice, Strážovice, Salisov and Podlesie follow along the stream . The Olešnice then flows back into Czech territory and finally reaches Mikulovice , past Bukovec , where it joins the Bělá after 13.6 kilometers .

At the northern foot of the Lysý vrch ( Dürreberg , 669 m) a mining educational trail leads through the Olešnice valley. On this section there are dilapidated tunnels, gold ore mills and gold soaps from the old Zuckmantel gold mining.
