Ole Svane Thestrup (born March 12, 1948 in Nibe ; † February 2, 2018 at Holbæk ) was a Danish actor .

Life

Thestrup completed an acting education at the Aarhus Teater drama school from 1973 to 1976. He then got an engagement as a theater actor at the Det Kongelige Teater . He later had other appearances and jobs at Gladsaxe Teater , Folketeatret , Betty Nansen Teatret , Det Danske Teater and Det Ny Teater , where he participated in many well-known productions and theater revues.

Furthermore, Thestrup worked as an actor in several Danish film and television productions. Among other things, he played as a supporting actor in the comedy Olsen Gang Junior (2001), the children's film The Fakir (2004) and the black comedy Adam's Apples (2005). Probably his best-known role with international audiences is that of Svend Åge Saltum in the political series Borgen - Dangerous Ropes , which premiered from 2010 to 2013.

Ole Thestrup died of lung cancer at the age of 69 . He had been married to a psychotherapist since 1991, with whom he had two daughters. He also adopted her daughter.
