Olga Alexandrovna Brusnikina ( Russian Ольга Александровна Брусникина ; born November 9, 1978 in Moscow , Soviet Union ) is a Russian synchronized swimmer, three-time Olympic champion, four-time world champion and ten-time European champion.

Athletic career

At the age of 17 Brusnikina took part in the XXVI. 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta and took fourth place with the Russian team.

Together with Marija Kisseljowa Brusnikina was three times Olympic champion in synchronized swimming, in a duet and in a team at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney and as a team at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens .

In 1998 in Perth and 2003 in Barcelona Brusnikina became world champion in synchronized swimming with the Russian team. At the 2001 World Swimming Championships in Fukuoka she won the gold medal in singles and at the 1998 World Swimming Championships in Perth she was world champion in a duet with Olga Sedakowa.

At the European Championships Brusnikina was able to win the European Championship ten times between 1993 and 2004, six times in a team, three times in a duet and once in an individual.

Life after exercise

Olga Brusnikina is married to the Russian water polo player Sergei Evstigneyev. On August 14, 2006 she gave birth to their son Ilya. Since 2006 she has been working on a sports commission at the National Olympic Committee of Russia .
